1. Who we are

GridReady is provided by Ready Apps LLC, a Tennessee limited liability company doing business as SOFReady ("we", "us"). These Terms of Service govern your use of the GridReady app on iPhone (App Store) and Android (Google Play) and this website (together, "GridReady"). By creating an account, subscribing, or using GridReady, you agree to these terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 or older to use GridReady. By using it, you confirm that you are.

3. What GridReady is

GridReady is a training app that teaches land navigation with a map and a compass. It includes lessons, a training simulator, and tools to plan and walk land navigation problems on real maps.

4. Training aid and safety

GridReady is a training aid, not a navigation device. Do not rely on it as your only means of navigation.
Maps come from public data, including the U.S. Geological Survey and other sources, and may be outdated or wrong.
GPS and phone compasses can be inaccurate.
Outdoor activity carries risk of injury or death. You assume that risk.
Tell someone your route, and carry a real map and compass.
Follow the rules of any course, test, or event you take part in. Passing anything in GridReady does not mean you will pass any test, course, or selection.

5. No affiliation

GridReady is not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Army, the Department of Defense, or any government agency. Army doctrine is cited as the source of the teaching, not as an endorsement.

6. Accounts

Give accurate information and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
We may suspend or close an account that abuses GridReady or breaks these terms.
You can delete your account at any time at gridready.org/delete.

7. Subscriptions and auto-renewal

GridReady is sold as an auto-renewing subscription. Current web prices are $79.99 every 3 months and $220 per year, plus any applicable tax. App Store and Google Play prices may differ and are shown in the store before you buy.

In-app purchases on iPhone and Android are billed and renewed by Apple or Google under their terms. Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings. On the App Store, turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid the next charge.
Web purchases on gridready.org are processed by Stripe and managed through RevenueCat. Stripe, Inc. is the seller of record for web purchases. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price until you cancel.
If we change the price, we will tell you in advance. The new price applies at your next renewal. If you do not agree, cancel before it renews.

8. Cancellation

You can cancel anytime. App Store: iPhone Settings, your name, Subscriptions. Google Play: Google Play, Payments and subscriptions. Web: your account page. Canceling stops future renewals. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription.

9. Refunds

In-app purchases: refunds follow Apple's or Google's policy, and you request them from Apple or Google. Web purchases on gridready.org: All sales are final. We do not give refunds or credits for partial subscription periods. Cancel anytime to stop the next renewal. Nothing in these terms limits refund rights you have under the law where you live.

10. Free preview

We may offer part of GridReady free. Maps are free. A subscription unlocks the 11 lessons, the simulator (Gridland), and Create a problem with the GPS walk. We may change what is free at any time.

11. Acceptable use

Do not copy, resell, or redistribute GridReady or its content; reverse engineer the app except where the law allows it; interfere with the service or other users; share your account to get around paying; or use GridReady in breach of any law.

12. Our content

The app, lessons, questions, illustrations, simulator, and grading are owned by Ready Apps LLC or its licensors and are protected by law. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use GridReady for your own training while your account is in good standing.

13. Map data and doctrine

Maps of real areas are built from public data from the U.S. Geological Survey and other national datasets. They are models of the ground and may differ from current conditions. The simulator runs in Gridland, a fictional training world. Teaching follows published U.S. Army doctrine. See Data and attributions.

14. No warranties

GridReady is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that GridReady will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that map data, GPS positions, or compass readings are accurate or current.

15. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Ready Apps LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for injury, death, or loss arising from use of GridReady for navigation. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for GridReady in the 12 months before the claim or $50.

16. Ending these terms

You can stop using GridReady at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. Sections 12, 14, 15, 18 and 19 survive.

17. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use GridReady after that means you accept the change.

18. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Tennessee, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them elsewhere.

19. App store terms

Apple. If you got GridReady from the App Store:

These terms are between you and Ready Apps LLC only, not Apple. Ready Apps LLC, not Apple, is solely responsible for GridReady and its content.
Your license is limited to using GridReady on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the Usage Rules in the App Store Terms of Service.
Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for GridReady.
If GridReady fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for GridReady.
Ready Apps LLC, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to GridReady, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
If a third party claims GridReady infringes their intellectual property, Ready Apps LLC, not Apple, is responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.
You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
You must comply with any third-party terms that apply when using GridReady, such as your wireless data agreement.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Once you accept them, Apple has the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

Google. If you got GridReady from Google Play, these terms are between you and Ready Apps LLC only, not Google. Google is not responsible for GridReady or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. Your use of Google Play is also governed by Google Play's terms of service.
