We collect what we need to run your account, unlock what you paid for, and fix and improve the app. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising. You can delete your account at any time at gridready.org/delete.

3. How we use it

  • Run your account and save your progress across devices
  • Unlock and manage your subscription
  • Fix bugs and improve lessons and the simulator
  • Answer support requests
  • Send service emails, such as receipts and account emails
  • Meet legal obligations

4. Analytics and crash reports

Analytics. We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used: which lessons get started and finished, which tools get used, and where people get stuck. We send a fixed list of events with counts and short labels only. They never include your name, email, grid coordinates, location, or account ID. We never attach your account to analytics, we collect no advertising ID on any platform, and we don't use or share this data for advertising. Google keeps analytics data for 14 months.

Firebase Analytics estimates your approximate location (city or region level) from your IP address. We never collect your precise GPS location.

Device identifiers. Analytics uses an app instance ID, and Analytics and Crashlytics use a Firebase installation ID. These identify this install of the app, not you or your account, and are never an advertising ID.

Crash reports. We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash logs and diagnostics, with the Firebase installation ID, to fix bugs. Crash reports are not linked to your account. Crashlytics keeps them for 90 days.

5. Location

The app uses your location on your phone only: to show your position, check pace, and record a walk. Your GPS location is never sent to us or anyone else. Marks, plans, drawn areas and tracks stay on your phone.

Firebase Analytics estimates your approximate location (city or region) from your IP address, as described in section 4. When you download maps, our map server sees which map area you downloaded and your IP address, like any download. Your GPS location is never sent to us or anyone else. Marks, plans, drawn areas, tracks, and your practice history stay on your phone. When you download a map, our server is told which region to send and counts the download against a random install id that is not tied to your account or your GPS position. Nothing else you do on the map is sent anywhere. Downloading a map tells our server which region to send. If you choose to share or export something yourself, it goes where you send it.

6. Who processes it

We use service providers that handle data on our behalf, under their own terms and security practices:

  • Google Firebase: accounts, data storage, analytics, crash reports, and app integrity checks (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, App Check). Firestore also stores creator link visits from this website.
  • RevenueCat: subscription status and purchase management
  • Stripe: web payments on gridready.org
  • Apple: App Store purchases and Sign in with Apple
  • Google Play: Google Play purchases
  • Cloudflare: delivers map downloads, and sees your IP address when you download
  • Netlify: hosts this website, sees your IP address when you visit, and receives wait list sign ups and the deletion request form

7. What we do not do

  • We do not sell your personal data.
  • We do not collect an advertising ID on any platform.
  • We do not use or share your data for advertising, including cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • We do not track you across other companies' apps and websites.

8. Creator and campaign links

Some links to GridReady come from creators we work with and from our own ads, for example gridready.org/c/name. When you open one:

  • We record the visit: the link name, the page, the site that sent you, your browser type, a random session ID, and the time. This record is not linked to an account. Google Firebase stores it and receives your IP address when it is saved.
  • Your browser keeps the link name, and any campaign tags in the link, for 30 days.
  • If you create an account or subscribe on gridready.org in that time, the link name is attached to your subscription record and your purchase so we can credit and pay the creator.
  • We keep visit records for 14 months.

This happens on this website only, not in the app. We don't use it for advertising.

9. Wait list

If you join the wait list, we keep your email, the page you signed up on, and the creator link you came from, if any. We use it to tell you when GridReady launches and to send GridReady news. Every email has an unsubscribe link, or email us and we'll take you off. Netlify receives the sign up. We delete wait list emails when you unsubscribe or ask us to.

10. Deleting your account

Go to gridready.org/delete. You can delete your account there without the app, or in the app: Open Profile, then Delete account. Check the box and confirm. Deleting it yourself takes effect right away. Requests sent by email or by the form on that page are finished within 30 days.

What gets deleted:

  • Your account: email, sign-in, and account ID.
  • Your saved progress and settings stored with your account.
  • Your subscription status record.

What is kept:

  • Maps, marks, plans, drawn areas and tracks live only on your phone and were never uploaded. Delete the app to remove them.
  • Your purchase record is deleted when you delete your account. If a subscription is still active, it is deleted when that subscription ends. Apple and Google keep their own purchase records under their own policies. Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Cancel it in your iPhone Settings first.
  • App analytics are never attached to your account. Google keeps analytics data for 14 months.
  • Crash reports are not linked to your account. Crashlytics keeps them for 90 days.

Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel it first: iPhone Settings or Google Play.

11. Your choices

  • Ask for a copy of your data or ask us to correct it by emailing founder@sofready.ai .
  • Delete your account at gridready.org/delete, in the app, or by emailing us from the address on your account.

12. Age

GridReady is for users 18 and older. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls through our providers. No system is perfectly secure.

14. Your state's rights

Depending on where you live, including California and other states with privacy laws, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal data. We do not sell or share personal data as those laws define it. To use any of these rights, email us. We will not treat you differently for using them.

15. Changes

If we change this policy in a material way, we will tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
